About Yalwa

Bringing People Together Yalwa is a thriving internet company based in Wiesbaden, Germany. Klaus Gapp founded Yalwa in 2006. His vision was to create a sustainable company with a start-up atmosphere. Since then Yalwa has launched three web applications in more than 50 countries. Our team consists of a diverse group of people from over 25 different countries. Discover our portals: Locanto, the classifieds site that makes buying or selling locally fun; #Dating, an online dating space to meet like-minded people in your area; and Yalwa, your first and last stop when searching your local area for businesses. Our three platforms are unified in their single goal: to connect people with their community. It’s the team that gives Yalwa its unique atmosphere. With multiple disciplines, from technical to creative, coupled with a breadth of backgrounds, we utilize these different ways of thinking to our advantage, both when solving problems and coming up with new ideas. Our different departments work closely together to grow and move our platforms forward; but don’t think the team spirit stops after the job is done: We also enjoy company events like our Summer Party in July or our Tree Trimming Party at Christmas, and we often cook together, race Go-Karts or even spend an evening just playing video games! Take a look at our IT departments and their day-to-day... System Operations: As system administrators, we’re responsible for the technological side of things at Yalwa. We not only maintain our servers, but we also take care of the hard- and software of all team members. We install new devices and updates, and check that everything works as it should. Software Development: As web developers, it’s our job to ensure our platforms run smoothly. We’re constantly developing products, implementing new features, and improving on what already exists with our users in mind.
