The Body Shop

About The Body Shop

The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick in Brighton, England. It all started as a small shop providing quality skincare products in refilled bottles and with the belief that business could be a force for good and the world - our source of beauty. Since then The Body Shop has become a global retail business serving over 30 million customers worldwide, employs 10,000 people with a further 12,000 in our franchise team, and operates in around 3,000 stores in more than 70 countries. We have exported innovative products, campaigns that matter and an ethical approach to business all over the globe. We couldn’t have done any of this without our inspirational people and their commercial instincts. WE ARE NOW B CORP CERTIFIED! A B Corp is a business that meets the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. B Corps don’t just care about profit – they care about people and the planet too. There are currently over 3,000 B Corps in 150 industries and 60 countries across the globe. We’re officially the biggest B Corp ever to be founded by a woman – pioneer Dame Anita Roddick. We’re delighted to join the club, but social and environmental activism has been part of our DNA since we were founded in 1976. Now, we’re determined to continue our mission more than ever. What motivates you to come to work every day? Walking in to work feeling like you have a purpose, and sharing your passion for beauty with others; our colleagues tell us what gets them raring to go on a working day!
