We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. The secret to our 40 years of success has been hiring and training great people. The Manufacturing Process Engineer reports to the Operations Manager. The Manufacturing Process Engineer must have Medical Device experience and clean room knowledge with plastics molding as an asset to support strong growth and new project deliverables at our Concord, ON facility. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will lead the implementation of new business and process improvement in accordance with our quality management system. Key Duties and Responsibilities Works closely with Sterling team members and customers to understand project requirements and assist with DFM and design transfer activities Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements Implements new processes within the organization in the plastic injection molding area Writes and distributes equipment and manufacturing RFQs, monitors vendors and manages the procurement / implementation process as needed Prepares product / process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information / trends Works with the engineering team to complete manufacturing related engineering documents such as Process flow charts, PFMEA’s, DFMEA’s, and work instructions Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures Assists with engineering responsibilities to the quality management system, such as corrective and preventative action plans General Requirements: Engineering degree with Process Engineering expertise 5 years of North American experience working with Advanced manufacturing in a Medical Device environment Class 100000 Clean Room knowledge and experience preferred In-depth knowledge and experience in ISO quality systems Six Sigma Green belt certified or equivalent Strong project management skills with proven experience in medium and largescale projects Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with a CAD package – SolidWorks preferred How to Apply.
