Seegrid is seeking interns for the software engineering team to work in the areas of robotic system development, fleet management, perception, and data analytics. Interns will work closely with the engineering teams to conceive, design, and implement new products and features and debug the complex issues that arise when robots, humans, and data interact. As a Software Engineering Intern on the Computer Vision/Perception team, you will improve and expand the technology that gives our vehicles a human sense of space. You will work with the hardware and software Perception stack and develop algorithms for mapping, detection, and understanding that empower Seegrid's vehicles to perform increasingly complex transport activities in a reliable and scalable fashion. Interns will work with a mentor as part of a larger project team, with projects assigned based on the individual's interests and background. This position provides the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to a complex product, work closely with experienced individuals of varying backgrounds, and experience the full life cycle of software development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Explore approaches to complex technical problems in machine perception Work closely with a mentor and team of peers Create high quality code to be used in our robots and other products Develop and deploy computer vision algorithms in Linux GPU environment Document work completed, and present complex technical topics to a diverse audience REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE: Enrolled in a Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Vision/Image Processing, Information Systems, Machine Learning, or a related discipline Proficiency and/or familiarity with state-of-the-art approaches to SLAM, object detection/classification, visual odometry, loop closure, place recognition, etc. Experience developing with C++ and/or Python on Linux, experience with GPU preferred Proficient at writing maintainable and readable code Must be a self-starter with a can-do attitude, comfortable and demonstrating flexibility in working a fast-paced, innovative environment All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
