We are seeking a full-time Transportation Planner to join our growing Madison, Wisconsin office. This is an entry level position. As an SRF Transportation Planner, you will assist with the development of a variety of planning projects including corridor studies, traffic studies, demographic analysis, municipal and county comprehensive planning, grant writing, and environmental documentation. At SRF, you will be supported through initiatives promoting professional development and individual growth. You will experience a broad range of challenging project opportunities and work closely with staff from across all our offices in the Midwest. Responsibilities: Key team member working on exciting transportation projects to address client needs Conducting technical research and field studies Creating and analyzing databases for various statistical and planning reports Collecting and analyzing data Utilizing performance measures to evaluate project alternate concepts GIS mapping and spatial analyses Report and memo writing Attending meetings and assisting in public and client presentations Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transportation planning, urban planning, civil engineering or related field with up to two years of experience preferred (however, graduate level encouraged to apply) Desire to attain AICP certification Knowledge of basic principles, practices, theories, terminology, and applications of current and long-range transportation planning. Familiarity with geography, land use and transportation issues Strong analytical skills Proven technical writing ability Excellent problem-solving capabilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in a number of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and database software and GIS.
