Data Science Intern As a data science intern at Price Industries you will be participating in a wide range of projects aligned with the primary business and research objectives of the organization. We are looking for a student in data science and machine learning to help us extract value from our enterprise. You will handle everything from data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing, to training models and deploying them to production under the supervision of our Data Scientist. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: Using a combination of your data scientist mindset, technology tools, and scientific rigor to contribute a positive impact to Price’s data driven initiatives. Building machine learning solutions to solve important business problems. Working closely with Price’s Data Science team to deploy solutions into a production environment. Collaborating with business leaders, subject matter experts, and decision makers to develop success criteria and optimize new products, features, policies, and models. Communicating key results to core stakeholders in verbal, visual, and written media. The ideal candidate for this position will have: Currently enrolled in Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or any quantitatively rigorous, related STEM discipline; or undergraduate student with prior co-op or internship experience as a machine learning engineer or data scientist. Must have an understanding of why a Machine Learning algorithm does what it does and be conversant on the basic math and intuition behind the methods. Strong knowledge of Python and awareness of best practices and patterns for Python as it relates to readability, maintainability, and performance. Must have experience with Python libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, scikit-learn, NimbusML, h2o,seaborn, matplotlib, SciPy, and statsmodels. Must be comfortable with basic SQL. Must be comfortable operating in a Linux environment and have working command of bash. Must have experience using REST APIs Must have a recent project posted to Github prior to submitting application.
