Location: Montreal, Canada office PTC has an open position for an intern to perform software engineering and related tasks. Required Skills: Experience designing and writing software applications in Java, as part of class work, self study, or professional employment Effective written communication skills Self-confidence in spoken communication Able to work independently or as a member of a team Flexibility and adaptability Pursuing coursework or a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field Preferred Skills: A solid understand of object oriented concepts A solid understand of database concepts Experience in Java, JSP, XML, and HTML Knowledge of and an appreciation for professional software development processes or methodologies (e.g. Traditional waterfall, CMMI, Agile, XP, etc.) Experience in the deliberate testing of software applications The successful candidate will become a member of a team of software engineers responsible for developing high quality end-user web applications. The specific responsibilities will be determined based on the specific needs of the organization and the skills of the candidate. The position is expected to involve a mixture of implementing software applications, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing applications, support and/or installation of software applications and special assignments to improve software development processes. Basic Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled in either Bachelor's or Master's Degree program.
