Overview: Rapiscan Systems | AS&E, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Field Service Engineer 2. This position is located in Afghanistan. Our commitment to excellence in imaging performance, innovative design, and uncompromising quality ensures our solutions consistently deliver best-in-class imaging, high reliability, and operator satisfaction, to help customers find threats and contraband with ease and confidence Responsibilities: Provide NIIS installation, troubleshooting, repair, PMCS/QC, asset validation and operator training services to include but not limited to: operation, overhaul, and maintenance equipment, applying knowledge and OEM specifications. Conduct monthly PMCS and monthly Quality Control (QC) site visits for all NIIS variants. Conducts investigations to determine source of technical problems. Evaluates results of investigations and recommends corrective action to customer. Oversees and performs mechanical and structural repairs. Perform all operational tests, inspections, removals, replacements, updates, reinstallations or evacuations of defective hardware or software, and retest operational capability. Compiles technical data pertaining to changes and improvements. Updates COLTS as required. Qualified trainers that can provide operator and sustainment training for military, civilian, and Contractor personnel. Provide New Equipment Training (NET), sustainment training and displaced equipment training for the individual, crew, and maintenance through initial, formal and informal on the job training and sustainment proficiency training Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications: Minimum 5-10 years (or equivalent experience) of supporting complex capital equipment in a service capacity; previous X-Ray experience a plus, prior field service experience preferred. A.S. in Electronic Technology or Engineering with Mechanical Engineering experience Technical degree or, demonstrable mechanical / electrical ability and knowledge. Previous experience may be substituted for the Technical Degree. Minimum high school diploma Strong knowledge / skills of Analog, Digital, and Mechanical systems Networking hardware and software knowledge and application skills a must Database management and programming, software / firmware protocols Ability to effectively manage both technical and administrative functions Strong written and verbal communication skills (multi-lingual is a plus) Strong communications skills and ability to work effectively with different cultures and functional group Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of Oracle workflow management systems, or similar ERP system Must be able to work independently and make logical decisions within position parameters based upon AS&E’s guidelines. Previous military experience strongly desired Must be able to secure and maintain local work visas Must currently hold and maintain an active US Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level or above This position includes an education verification, credit check and driving record as part of our background check.
