Your Opportunity with Michels Canada Reporting to the Transportation Compliance Specialist, the Transportation Compliance Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support on site. This may include, but is not limited to, the processing and management of driver qualification files, truck authorizations, citation/violation processing, record-keeping and reporting, hours of service compliance, and permit acquisition activities. The Transportation Compliance Coordinator must have a thorough knowledge of Federal and provincial regulatory requirements. The successful candidate must have experience coordinating record management systems and compliance programs for National Safety Code (NSC) Fleet and Drivers. This includes auditing driver logs and maintaining driver and unit files to NSC standards. Must be a self-starter, with a positive and proactive attitude. We are looking for individuals who are ready to commit to a 6-day x 10-12 hour schedule for future vacancies. Your Key Responsibilities Coordinate driver training and orientation programs for new drivers; coordinate driver training and periodic retraining of all drivers Schedule periodic compliance meetings with drivers and relevant employees Maintain, audit and update records relating to driver logs, trip inspections, maintenance records and other supporting documentation Conduct audits of records to satisfy the requirements of regulatory authorities Ensure all vehicle registrations including prorated equipment is current and up to date Submit IFTA return to the head office Apply for applicable permits Perform Driver Evaluations and driver pre-trip audits Other duties as assigned Your Capabilities and Credentials Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation regulation and compliance or related experience in similar industries Working knowledge of hours of service, pre-trip inspection, weights/dimensions and cargo securement Familiarity with International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Well versed with the Traffic Safety Act and the Dangerous Goods Transportation and Handling Act, as well as the regulations made under these Acts Experience in maintaining driver files and log books Experience in providing commercial driver training Must have a valid driver’s licence with a safe driving record Pipeline construction/administrative experience is preferred Experience in maintaining driver files and log books is preferred Experience in providing commercial driver training is preferred Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to prioritize workload Apply Now!
