YOUR ROLE The successful candidate will have the responsibility for all department activity including Health & Safety, achievement of business KPIs, labour, training, team development and engagement, quality, environment and security. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Identify resource requirements for each department based on forecast activity and devise tactical plans to manage shortages / surplus Devise and implement operational and financial KPI targets to ensure business and customer requirements are achieved. Responsible for managing cost performance in line with forecast / budget ensuring appropriate measures are in place to manage variation Regular briefing of Supervisors and Team Leaders to support the flow of information and feedback for all business and customer updates and initiatives, ensuring effective pre-shift briefing and handover processes are in place Develop effective plans to ensure departments are cross trained to provide increased flexibility and achieve all SLAs. Conduct regular reviews of training plans to ensure they are fit for purpose and any refresher training is identified and planned for Responsible for reviewing operational change requests and ensuring compliance to the change control process Provide support, advice and coaching to supervisors and team leaders in line with ongoing development programmes and succession planning Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers to better understand key business drivers and devise tactical improvement plans to support continued growth / success Manage all people processes including performance management, time and attendance, conduct issues which includes the carrying out of formal investigations, disciplinary hearings and the hearing of grievances. Responsible for recruitment and selection within the operation Ensure accident and incident investigations are carried out in a timely fashion and escalated as appropriate, reporting any H&S issues to line manager, review all investigations and corrective measures to ensure root cause has been identified and addressed YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Logistics management experience in a fast moving environment. Strong warehouse system experience Leadership qualities including the ability to enthuse and motivate Financial and strategic management experience and commercial awareness Excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills – at all levels Drive, determination and a track record in delivering continuous improvement Exposure to develop effective customer service and commercial understanding Ability to influence and negotiate and deal with conflict successfully GOOD REASONS TO JOIN If you would like to become a valued member of our team then we will also make sure that you’re rewarded for your commitment and expertise.
