Who we are looking for: We are looking for an experienced Structural BIM/Revit Technician to lead the drafting on projects ranging in size from high-end architecturally designed homes to large scale multi-story multi-use buildings with a special focus on Mass-Timber Building types. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of structural engineering drawings which have been derived from both 3D Revit Models and more traditional 2D drafting and detailing. As an important member of the design team, you will contribute to the development of in-house systems and processes and regular knowledge sharing. You need to be able to work collaboratively, be flexible and receptive to change. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Adhere to best practice BIM Standards Creation of Geometrically Accurate LOD 300+ Structural REVIT models utilizing Equilibrium Standards and Metadata Schema. Manage and lead the structural drafting on assigned projects ensuring the highest quality in accordance with expected Equilibrium Standards. Troubleshoot problems that arise within the rapidly changing digital coordination environment. Facilitate and ensure the highest quality of design, drawings and graphic work produced for the team. Develop structural engineer’s concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, into a logically organized and easy to read package through direct communications. Ability to maintain a clean and organized Revit file, which is easy to navigate and access information. Takes pride in the presentation of their work and possess a willingness to take ownership of the task in front of them. Day to day: In tandem with the engineer, work with Architect and other consulting team members to provide practical and workable solutions. Coordinate 3D Model/drawings with other consultants Plot and issue drawings as required by the project team and ensure proper QA/QC protocols are implemented. Assist in scheduling of drafting production to meet both internal and external deadlines. Coordinate with structural engineers to gather building dimensions, drawing requirements, structural details, and drawing markups. Create structural BIM models and construction documents for a variety of building types using Revit/AutoCAD. Required Skills and Experience: Education: Diploma or Certificate in Civil/Structural drafting or technology from an accredited University or Technical College. Experience: Min 4-6 years Revit Experience (Modeling, BIM, Family creation inclusive) Min 5 years Technically proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Windows. Min 5 years of experience in drafting and design principles, methods and practices for producing Engineered Structural drawings. Sound technical knowledge of building structures. A proven track record of leading the drafting on projects. Knowledge of Bluebeam. Skills: Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment across multiple locations. Disciplined work ethic with great attitude and energy. Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects and teams concurrently. Organized, self-motivated, pro-active, detail-oriented, and willing to take on new challenges. Excellent problem-solving skills and critical-thinking. Fast learner who can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to coordinate with internal staff and clients. Good communication skills and ability to guide and mentor more junior staff. Plus, but not Required: Knowledge of manufacturing processes or experience producing manufacturing shop drawings. Knowledge of Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, or other parametric or coordination tools. Experience in Excel operating and programming. Timber Knowledge bonus but not essential.
