Data Centre Architect Role Overview As a Data Centre Architect, the candidate will work closely with global peers responsible for determining a project’s scope across APAC location before developers begin any major work. Roles and Responsibilities: · Provide input from a regional perspective into current and future data centre architectural efforts within the Data Centre Research and Engineering team to integrate infrastructure technology requirements into the physical data centre footprint. · Provide integration expertise, technical analysis and critical data analysis related to the overall system architecture and align with overall data centre strategy particularly application hosting placement. · Design input planning and implementation for Data Centre migration and consolidation projects in the region. Develop and maintain functional relationships across multidisciplinary teams to anticipate future data centre physical architectures, controls, automation and areas to improve Data Centre overall resource efficiency. · Provide representation and technical interface to key internal partner organizations including networks, computer, storage, Real Estate and Building IT functions. · Partner with Service Owners to identify, evaluate and align existing or new products to service opportunities and to ensure the product supports the overall data centre service strategy and outcomes. · Develop and maintain detailed lifecycle product roadmaps to support management of product change based on performance thresholds. Understand the financials and financial levers for our products/services including capital & direct expense forecasting. · Establish and execute routines to review and analyse product performance metrics to ensure the product operates within defined performance thresholds. Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products. · Participate in appropriate regional or global architecture forums to represent Data Centre Services. · Support all requests in region from CRES or Building IT Teams to review proposals to change Data Centre / Technology Room footprint across APAC · Collate all requirements from the requestor including timeline to respond and note any key upcoming review board meetings. · Draft a project plan to be stored on SharePoint for review outlining the key next steps with the initiative. PDF version to be added after every major version change · Attend Data Centre Exit Steering Committee Meetings / Data Centre Services Management Meetings to provide updates on regional activities · Partner with the Client subject matter experts from the various GTI functions and CTO areas who are supporting the initiative · Work with technical resources from all areas, including technology, corporate services and security · During migration lock-ins and during the execution, expect regular interactions with migration resources, clients to coordinate and verify tasks are completed as planned · Actively engage in planning the migration activities; includes reviewing requirements and providing input on wave planning. · Work closely with GTI functions involved in migration planning and application owners to ensure all architectural changes have been clearly understood and impact assessed. · Work with technical SMEs to prepare and dashboard with requirements to support migrations · Work closely with the Project / Programme Leads on migration prep work before weekend activities · Support any escalations and work closely with SMEs to close the escalation related to architectural changes · Engage with client’s Change and Incident Management to provide appropriate approvals · Work with GTI Function SMEs and Vendor resources to manage all change activities; including and gaining approvals for changes planned on weekend · Work closely with application owners and identify impact to their applications · Attend post implementation review meetings post change activities & log all lessons learn from each migration weekend; highlight globally as required · Validate all project document repositories - ensure all project documentation including project plans are maintained · Work closely with Data Centre Services and Data Centre Portfolio support to ensure all deliverables and milestones are logged and presented at the appropriate forum e.g. Project or Portfolio Steer Co for discussion / approval Job Requirements · Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supporting products and service management projects, preferably in Banking & Finance technology. · Experience in the areas of product development, requirements analysis, pricing, planning, competitive analysis, sales planning, inventory control, financial planning and strategy. · Excellent in consistently follow through with operational requirements by scheduling time with all operations management and subject matter experts for input on best practices. · Ensure that deadlines are met for new product feature releases for optimal return on investment. · Able to create, maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on business value or ROI. · Turn-over all documentation created or updated during this engagement with the client. · Good understanding of mid-range systems, storage and network · Experience in Data Centre Exits & Migrations is required Education and Qualification · Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology. · Proficient communications and Project Management skills. · PMP certification.
