The Junior Estimator will report to the Estimating Manager and be accountable for working with the broader estimating team in preparing and coordinating quantity take-offs. The Jr. Estimator will be responsible for preparing tender packages and get a thorough understanding of Clark Construction Management’s tendering standards. Key Functions and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Prepares and coordinates quantity take-offs with supervision. Communicates with sub-trades and suppliers to ensure understanding of scope of work. Prepare sub-trade tender packages. Assist with the development of the estimate. Communicates with sub-trades for understanding of scope of work. Ability to check and verify one's own quantities using other sources. Education and Experience Requirements: Engineering/Construction diploma/degree Less than 5 years of industry experience OIQS – Student Knowledge & Skills: Blue-print reading Basic understanding of Standard Method of Measurement. Basic understanding of construction methodology, including development, contracting and consulting. Basic trade/product knowledge Technology savvy in Excel Mathematically inclined Attention to detail Time Management Ability to prioritize Good communication skills Research abilities - general/pricing Ability to work within a team Work Conditions: Occasional travel Sitting for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
