Medical Aid rate based on principal member only) To be confirmed Advert Closing Date 13/3/2020 Job Purpose Candidates that previously applied for this post must re-apply again To coordinate the Experiential Learning Programme for the designated academic departments including but not limited to building strong industry network, development of an employer base for student placement, development of preparedness programmes, assessment of students, and placement visits and assist the Advisory committee. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience Relevant BTech Degree or equivalent NQF level qualification 3 years working experience in facilitating and coordinating the placement of students Work-Based-Learning Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Industry Alliance and Partnerships Market and promote Co-operative Education in industry. Establish employer and other relationships with regards to student training needs. Develop and expand the employer base for student placements. Assist with Advisory Committee meetings. Curriculum and Assessment structure and design an integrated Experiential Learning Programme. Curriculate work-based learning in OBE format in line with NQSF and SAQA requirements. Assess experiential learning projects of students according to set examination criteria. Student Counselling Fully inform students of suitable career paths and available opportunities in industry. Coach the student in effective methods whereby his/her examination assignments can be successfully compiled.Assist with personal and experiential learning related projects. Facilitate student professional development. Coach students in methods for preparing experiential learning projects. Orientate learners. Monitor/Visit learners industry. Mediate between learners and supervisors. Quality Assurance Update and extend the Student Guide to comply with present needs of students and employers. Develop a competency- based assessments system. Improve throughput rates. Monitor satisfaction of students and employers alike with regards to the experiential learning program. Teaching and Training of Learners Present the Work Preparedness Programme. Conduct class-learning exercises with regards to aspects which are relevant to workplace learning. Student/ Client Satisfaction Monitor and record satisfaction of students with regard execution of experiential learning programs. Improve learning program content Administration Learner progress reports are accurate and regularly updated. Develop and maintain an effective administration system. Communication and Networking Improve links with faculty members. Establish links with new employers. Maintain links with students, employers and faculty members.
