1) Coordinate all domestic and export shipments 2) Prioritize and plan accurate and timely shipments with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, and Shipping 3) Forecast equipment needs; place order/s for equipment; continuously monitor equipment supply 4) Print and distribute Dock Receipts, Load Cards, and Coil Tags to Shipping 5) Research and resolve questions related to barge shipments 6) Facilitate resolution of weight, package, and location issues for barge shipments 7) Maintain organized files with all BOLs, export documentation, and shipment paperwork 8) Conduct new carrier and vendor setup 9) Assist with cost/rate retrieval and maintenance 10) Assist with the negotiation of freight rates 11) Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics’ planning and execution 12) Facilitate timely invoice resolution for carriers and vendors 13) Track and minimize demurrage costs 14 Initiate and close freight claims for barge shipments 15 Obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) Requests 16) Publish daily and ad-hoc reports as needed 17) Performs other duties as required Qualifications 1) Requirements and Skills: a) Proficient use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking b) Ability to manage multiple tasks, to set priorities, and to meet deadlines c) Strong organization and analytical skills d) Self-managing; works well with little supervision e) Geographically competent f) Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external parties regarding issues and changes 2) Education and Experience: a) Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline b) 5 to 7 years of related experience with no degree c) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Environment is typically in an office setting with a controlled environment. Physical responsibilities do include going into the plant, external locations and scale houses as needed. General work hours are expected with some overtime depending on the workload.
