Design Engineering We are currently recruiting for Design Engineering for our Cambridge, ON facility. JOB SUMMARY: BWXT designers are responsible for designing tools that will be used for machining, welding, or inspection of equipment in nuclear power plants. They are involved in all stages of the design process from conceptual design through factory acceptance testing and field execution. RESPONSIBILITIES: Design tools for field services work: Create conceptual designs of service tools for machining, welding, inspection, etc. Create design plans and perform design reviews. Seek out stakeholder input. Support tool testing and modifications required during execution. Tooling fabrication: Create manufacturing drawings for tools. Work with fabrication vendors. Provide oversight of tool use during field execution, if necessary: Perform work in a nuclear power plant on critical tooling applications. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science OR Technician / Technologist diploma if design experience can be demonstrated. Willingness to travel to various CANDU sites for short periods of time. ASSETS: Hands on mechanical experience and aptitude. Familiarity with welding, machining, and/or 3D printing. Familiarity with non-destructive examination methods. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others. Experience working at CANDU facilities.
