Automation & Devops SME kind of Experience in Heavy Infrastructure workloads with decent system administrator skills on Solaris/AIX/Red Hat (around 10,000 servers). About The Role Role Location: Bengaluru Role Type: Engineer Shift Schedule: General shift and 24X7 support on the need basis. As an Engineer in IAAS-Enterprise Compute-Unix, you need to be actively working and leading on automating the legacy ways of working, adapting to Company’s new ways of working model, working on Puppet as a configuration and automation tool in an environment where Solaris/AIX/Linux are extensively used and should have SME skills in latest Automation tools working on automating Unix infra layer job. Being Agile and Jira centric and should be able to write stories for better Business Outcomes. You will be reporting Chapter Lead, Bengaluru-Unix Chapter. About You To grow and be successful in this role you will ideally bring the following: Essential skills Strong knowledge of OS image deployments and other rapid rebuilding techniques - SME skills in developing infrastructure as code to automate deployment using Puppet and good knowledge around Code Repository systems like GIT, Bitbucket and GitHub. Experience with systems and IT operations – Good Experience in Linux Administration, Management of Dockers/Containerization, Virtualization Technologies and decent exposure to Solaris or AIX System Administration, and Storage and Networking. Experience researching and designing highly available systems. Strong grasp of automation tools - Expertise in Coding, Shell Scripting, Python/Ruby and other supporting tools. Understanding and focus on business outcomes and Delivery through Infrastructure as a code. Understanding and efficiency in collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools. Relevant Experiences - Around 14yrs of experience in the above skillsets. Educational Background (if required)- Any relevant degree in technology Soft Skills – Should be able to communicate to Global group of Engineers and lead local teams in automation to deliver business outcomes. Demonstrated exceptional people management skills and the ability to lead a team with focus on performance to achieve goals, including coaching and developing teams in newer trending Tech. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to manage workflows and processing tasks. Preferred Skills: Highly experience in automating the System Administrator jobs of Unix with exposure to various storage environments like IBM, EMC etc. Working experience in monitoring tools like HP OM9, Backup tools like EMC Networker, HP DP Backups. Exposure Solaris OEM/OVM tools. Heavy exposure to Devops environment and understanding of AGILE and CI/CD environments.
