JOB SUMMARY Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and managing the day to day operations of the HR Department and ensuring a consistent and effective application of HR legislation, policies, procedures and practices in both official languages English. In addition to the day to day duties, the incumbent will maintain an ongoing relationship with employees and managers to promote a positive employee experience and work to ensure worker satisfaction by fostering a positive work environment. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTING OUTCOMES Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Update, maintain and monitor accuracy of data on the HRIS systems and maintain employee files. Process new hire, transfer, promotion, termination, benefits and other team member changes. Administers benefit plan, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Administrate all leave of absence (LOA), including: parental leave, maternity leave, medical leave due to occupational and non-occupational, personal leave, etc. Manage disability claim including the facilitation of return to work and accommodation. Assist with initial steps of employee relations and Investigation process. Performs clerical functions, including prepares new-employee files, makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; etc. Provide timely assistance and respond to employees’ enquiries including issuing employment verification. Assist with various HR functions, but not limited to, performance management, employee engagement, on-boarding, learning and development and communications QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge and Experience Certificate in Human Resources Management. Minimum of 1-2 years’ of experience in Human Resources Management. Knowledge of best practices in disability management and early and safe return to work. Solid experience with a broad range of HR processes (including disability management) and applicable legislative understanding. Skills and Abilities. Demonstrated ability to work well independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills combined with excellent judgment and decision-making abilities. Ability to work in a highly confidential manner with all work-related contacts and exercise a high degree of tact and discretion. Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
